The High Court has expressed shock over the tragic death of Government Titumir College student Rajib Hossain, whose right hand was sheared off after he was caught between two buses in Bangla Motor in Dhaka on April 3.
The bench of Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice AKM Zahirul Hoque expressed the shock during a rule hearing on compensation on Monday.
The court will deliver an order about compensating Rajib's family after his maternal aunt Jahanara Parvin appears before court on Tuesday, the petitioner lawyer Ruhul Kuddus Kajol said.
On April 4, the court issued the rule asking the authorities concerned to explain as to why directives should not be given to provide Tk1 crore as compensation to Rajib.
Rajib died of brain haemorrhage at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on April 17.
