A Chittagong court has refused bail for BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury— in a case filed under the ICT Act.
Chittagong Metropolitan Session Judge Akbar Hossain Mridha passed the order on Sunday, and sent him to jail.
Public Prosecutor (PP) Md Fakhruddin Chowdhury confirmed the matter.
Previously, the High Court had granted anticipatory bail to the BNP leader—in two separate cases filed in Dhaka and Chittagong.
After his bail expired on October 7, the Chittagong court extended his bail till October 21.
The BNP leader was charged with hatching a conspiracy against the state and plotting subversive activities.
