HC turns down writ challenging legality of MPs holding posts

Supreme Court lawyer Tawhidul Islam filed the writ on January 20

The High Court has turned down a writ filed challenging the legality of members of the 11th parliament holding official posts.

The bench of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil passed the order on Monday.

Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon stood for the petitioner while Deputy Attorney General Mukhlesur Rahman stood for the state.

Previously, on February 6, the High Court set February 18 (today) to pass its order on the writ.

 Supreme Court lawyer Tawhidul Islam filed the writ on January 20.
