The writ also sought RAB's help to investigate the murder

A writ has been filed with the High Court, seeking its directive upon the government to form a judicial probe into Nusrat Jahan Rafi's murder.

Supreme Court lawyer, Advocate Eunus Ali Akond, filed the writ petition with the High Court on Wednesday.

The Home Ministry secretary, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs secretary, inspector general of police, superintendent of Feni police, and officer-in-charge of Sonagazi police station, have been made respondents to the writ.

Eunus said, the writ had earlier been mentioned during the hearing with the High Court bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and KM Kamrul Kader.

The writ also sought the help of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) to investigate the murder.

A student of Sonagazi Islamia Fazil (Degree) Madrasa, Nusrat was set ablaze on April 6, by reported supporters of the madrasa principal, after she refused to withdraw a sexual harassment filed against him on March 27.

Only a few minutes before the Alim examination on April 6, four unidentified people allegedly took Nusrat to the roof of the three-storey administrative building of the madrasa, and set her on fire.

She lost her battle for life on April 10, five days after she was set afire — an incident that sparked outrage all over the country.
