Rajib died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on April 17, after two weeks in a coma
The High Court has set May 15 for its verdict on a rule directing the concerned authorities to pay Tk1 crore as compensation to Rajib Hossain’s family, who died after losing his hand in a bus accident in Dhaka last year.
The bench of Justice JBM Hassan and Justice MD Khairul Alam set the date after concluding a hearing on the rule on Wednesday, reports Bangla Tribune.
On April 3, 2018, the third-year student of Government Titumir College lost his right hand after it became stuck between two speeding buses of BRTC and Sajan Paribahan, which were trying to overtake each other in Bangla Motor area in Dhaka.
Rajib died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on April 17, after two weeks in a coma.
On May 8, the Court ordered the bus companies to pay Tk1 crore to Rajib's family as compensation. BRTC and Sajan Paribahan challenged the order.
