The High Court has directed Rajuk to submit a revised layout proposal by June 30
The High Court has directed Rajuk to provide transcripts of the board meetings held regarding the Purbachal New Town Project amid accounts of irregularities.
The court also stated that Rajuk did not comply with its orders and made drastic changes to the plans approved and directed by it.
The bench of Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Md Ashraful Kamal passed the order on Wednesday in response to the writ filed by the Bangladesh Environmental Lawyers Association (BELA), along with seven other organizations.
The court also ordered Rajuk to submit a revised layout proposal—complying with all the recommendations and directives made by the court—for the project by June 30, and scheduled July 4 as the next hearing date for the matter.
Advocate Syeda Rizwana Hasan and Sayeed Ahmed Kabir stood for the petitioner whereas Mr Tanjib-ul-Alam represented Rajuk.
