Golam Kibria was run over by van of Jamuna Group earlier this month
Father of traffic sergeant Golam Kibria, who was killed in a road accident, has filed a writ petition with the High Court seeking Tk10 crore compensation.
Golam died after a covered van of Jamuna Group ran him over while he was on duty at Barisal-Patuakhali highway near on July 15.
Lawyer M Faizullah filed the writ with the concerned section of the High Court on behalf of Golam’s father M Yunus Ali Sarder.
A total of 10 people-- including secretaries of home, road transport and bridges ministries, inspector general of police, chairman of Jamuna Group-- were made respondents in the writ.
The High Court bench of Justice Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Md Khairul Alam fixed July 28 as the date for the hearing of the petition.
