Bangla Motor bus accident: Court sends bus driver to jail

A Dhaka court sent to jail, bus driver Morshed implicated in the Bangla Motor Trust Bus Service accident case.

The verdict was given recording his statement under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure on Tuesday.

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ahsan Habib recorded Morshed's statement after Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Khairul Alam of Hatirjheel police station and the investigating officer (IO) of the case, produced him in court with a plea to record his statement.

Morshed drove his Trust Service bus into Krishna Roy Chowdhury, an assistant manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) on August 27.

 Krishna had to have her left leg amputated because of the accident.

Police arrested Morshed from Mirpur's Kazipara area in Dhaka on Sunday night.
