RAB detained him on September 18 for allegedly running an illegal casino
Police have said they have managed to collect important information from former Jubo League leader Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan regarding the arms case lodged against him.
They made disclosure in a report submitted to the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Tuesday.
Inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of Police Fazlul Haque, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted the report and pleaded for a three-day remand after producing Khaled before the court in a narcotics case.
Later, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Devdas Chandra Adhikari granted police the permission to take Khaled into remand.
On September 19, separate courts in Dhaka placed former Jubo League Dhaka South unit organizing secretary Khaled on a total of seven-day remand in two cases lodged over possession of illegal arms and narcotics.
RAB arrested Khaled from his Gulshan residence on September 18, for allegedly running an illegal casino in the Dhaka’s Fakirapool area. The law enforcement agency also seized illegal weapons, yaba pills, and a huge amount of cash from his residence.
He was then handed over to Gulshan police station on September 19.
RAB filed three cases against him under Arms, Narcotics Control Act, and Money Laundering Prevention Act.
Jubo League recently expelled Khaled for his alleged involvement in anti-social activities.
