The High Court has fixed Tuesday to hear the writ petitioned filed seeking Tk10crore for Buet student Abrar Fahad's family.
The bench of Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Md Ashraful Kamal fixed the hearing date on Monday.
Advocate AKM Faiz filed the writ on behalf of Supreme Court lawyer advocate Shahin Babu on Sunday.
The writ also sought the High Court’s directives for a judicial probe committee and ensuring of security for Abrar’s family.
Abrar, a second year student of electrical and electronic engineering (EEE) department, was tortured to death inside the university's Sher-e-Bangla Hall in the early hours of October 7.
Some Chhatra League leaders have been accused of beating him to death, for his alleged involvement with Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami.
Abrar's father filed a murder case against 19 people with Chawkbazar police station on October 7 evening.
