The court ordered to take down the used laminated poster after the polls
The High Court has ordered the authorities concerned to stop the production and use of laminated posters in the Dhaka north and south city corporation polls.
The bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mustafizur Rahman passed the sue moto rule on Wednesday.
The court also issued a rule asking to why the use of laminated poster should not be illegal.
Earlier, Supreme Court lawyer Monoj Kumar presented newspaper reports and brought the matter to the court’s notice.
The court asked the Election Commission and the both city corporations to take effective measures to stop the production of laminated poster.
Besides, the court ordered the authorities concerned to take down the used laminated poster after the polls, which is scheduled to be held on February 1.
