Probe reports in 4 cases over DU violence on March 24

The court has set the new date as the concerned investigation officers failed to submit the reports on Tuesday

A Dhaka court has set March 24 to submit probe reports into four cases, filed over violence that took place during the quota reform movement in April, 2018 at Dhaka University.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarafuzzaman Ansari has set the new date as the concerned investigation officers failed to submit the reports on Tuesday, reports BSS.

According to the case documents, hundreds of agitated people broke into the official residence of Dhaka University (DU) vice chancellor on the campus around 1 am on April 8, 2018. 

They broke the main door of the complex and vandalized everything they found in front of them. They also set a couple of vehicles and motorbikes in and around the complex on fire.

Dhaka University, chief security officer, on April 10, filed a case with Shahbagh police station over the destruction. 

Another case was filed over torching of a motorbike of a member of Special Branch of police.

The other two cases were filed, also by police for snatching their walkie-talkie and destruction.

The cases were filed against Rakibul Hasan, Ali Hossain Sheikh, Masud Alam, and Abu Sayeed Fazle Rabbi.
