A Dhaka court on Tuesday placed five alleged members of banned militant outfit Ansar al-Islam on three-day remand each in an Anti-Terrorism Act case filed with Dhamrai police station.
The accused are, Mizanur Rahman Palash, 35, Durul Huda, 44, Abdur Rashid, 21, Md Russel, 37, and Abdul Hai, 40.
Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Moniruzzaman passed the order against them as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to place them on a seven-day remand each for interrogation.
A team of Rapid Action Batallion (RAB) 4 arrested them on late July 26 from Dhamrai Dhulibhita Bus Stand area and recovered jihadi documents and mobile phones from their possessions.
RAB later filed the case with Dhamrai police station.
