Hearing on 11 cases against Khaleda Zia on October 6
The Supreme Court has upheld the High Court order staying the trial proceedings of four cases filed against Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
An Appellate Division bench headed by the Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain came up with the order on Monday after hearing four appeals filed by the state.
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam stood for the state while Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon and Badruddoza Badol represented Khaleda Zia.
The four cases were filed against the BNP chairperson with charges of sabotage between January and March of 2015 at Jatrabari police station and Darussalam police station.

A Dhaka court fixed the hearing on 11 cases against former Bangladesh prime minister on charges of sedition and inciting violence on October 6.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Court Judge KM Imrul Kayes fixed the date on Monday.
