On July 30, ACC filed a case against Khalidi on charges of acquiring wealth beyond his known sources of income
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed an appeal against the High Court order that granted bail to Toufique Imrose Khalidi, the editor-in-chief of bdnews24.com, in a case filed over corruption.
ACC lawyer Advocate Kurshid Alam Khan confirmed the matter. “We filed the appeal on August 27 and the court may have a hearing on the matter today [Tuesday].”
On August 26, the High Court granted an eight-week anticipatory bail to Toufique Imrose Khalidi in a case filed against him by the ACC.

On July 30, ACC filed the case against Khalidi on charges of acquiring wealth beyond his known sources of income.
The anti-graft watchdog’s Deputy Director Gulshan Anwar Pradhan filed the case with its Dhaka Integrated Office 1.
According to the case documents, Khalidi possesses Tk42 crore in four accounts with HSBC Bank, Eastern Bank, Southeast Bank, and Mutual Trust Bank, for which no legal source was found.
However, Khalidi has denied the allegations.
