CID arrested Enamul Haque Enu and Rupon Bhuiyan for their alleged link with casino businesses
The High Court has refused to grant bail to suspended Gendaria Awami league leaders Enamul Haque Enu and his brother Rupon Bhuiyan in two graft cases.
Since the state was strongly opposed to granting the bails, the court also issued two separate rules asking the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and the government to explain in two weeks why Enamul and Rupon should not be granted bail in the cases.
The bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Ahmed Sohel came up with the order on Tuesday after hearing two separate bail petitions filed by the brothers.

During the hearing, Advocate Syed Mamun Mahbub appeared for the accused, Advocate Khurshud Alam Khan represented the ACC, and Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik stood for the state.
On January 13, 2020, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police arrested Enamul Haque Enu, Rupon Bhuiyan and their associate Sheikh Sunny Mostafa in Keraniganj, Dhaka, for their alleged links with the casino businesses.
Earlier, in October 2019, the ACC filed two cases — one against Enamul for amassing illegal wealth worth Tk21.89 crore, and another against Rupon for amassing illegal wealth worth Tk14.12— with its integrated district office in Dhaka.
