The accused reportedly forged an interim bail order to free some of his clients
A Dhaka court on Thursday placed a lawyer on a six-day remand in a case lodged over the forgery of an interim bail order.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Morshed Al Mamun Bhuiyan issued the order after police produced the accused, advocate Raju Ahmed Rajib, before the court and sought permission to keep him in custody for 10 days.
Three cases were filed regarding a clash between two parties in Bogra on February 9. One of them was filed against Bogra Jubo League unit leader Aminul Islam and 32 others. After the filing of the case, an interim bail order had been forged by the lawyer to free his clients.
The matter was brought to the attention of the concerned High Court bench, and Attorney General AM Amin Uddin urged the court to take strong action against the culprits.
Later, the High Court directed the Supreme Court administration to file a case in this connection.
