The man is accused in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act
A Dhaka court on Wednesday sent Junayed Karim Jimmy, the costume designer of Dhallywood star Pori Moni to jail, rejecting his bail plea and the police’s remand petition in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.
Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billah passed the order after Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials produced him before the court, seeking on five-day fresh remand for further interrogation.

Jimmy’s defence counsel Khalilur Rahman had submitted a petition seeking bail for him and rejection of the police’s remand plea.
The court rejected both petitions after the hearing and sent Jimmy to jail.

On August 7, another Dhaka court had placed Jimmy on a three-day remand in a case filed at Gulshan police station.
Detective Branch (DB) of police had arrested him from a house in Gulshan last Friday. Later, DB Sub-Inspector (Gulshan zone) Uday Kumar Mandal filed the drugs case against him at Banani police station.
