A Dhaka court has once again indicted 25 people accused in the murder case of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) student Abrar Fahad.

Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 Judge Abu Zafar Md Kamruzzaman also gave the three-absconding accused to surrender before the court by September 14.

The state moved for a reindictment on Wednesday saying that some parts of the case were missing when charges were first framed, Public Prosecutor Abu Abdullah Bhuiyan told the media.

He added that a new date for the accused to surrender has been set as the defence refused to recall witnesses.

The court was originally scheduled to hear arguments before the state’s petition.

As many as 47 depositions have been recorded in the case after the court indicted 25 accused on September 15, 2020.

The investigators had filed the name of 60 witnesses and 21 pieces of evidence with the court in the charge-sheet.

Last year in January, the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate transferred the case to Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Court. The case was then transferred to Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-1.
