The food authorities have fined “Pagla Baburchi”, the latest venture of burger joint Madchef, Tk100,000 for failing to maintain health guidelines.
A Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) mobile court led by Magistrate Uchen Mae fined the restaurant located at Banani 11 after a raid on Monday.
According to BFSA, the restaurant authorities have been asked to adhere to health guidelines with regard to food processing, preservation and sales.
They have also been asked to ensure transparency and hygiene at all times to avoid health hazards of the consumers.
“Pagla Baburchi”, opened earlier this year, is burger joint Madchef’s venture into Bengali cuisine.
Safe Food Inspector Mir Masum accompanied the magistrate during the drive, which was conducted with the help of Ansar members.
