The charges include torching bus and attacking police during a hartal in 2015
A special court has framed charges against 41 BNP leaders and activists in two separate cases lodged under Special Powers' Act and Explosives Substance Act.
Judge Fatima Kanika of Dhaka’s Sixth Special Tribunal passed the order on Monday and set October 29 to start recording deposition of prosecution witnesses.
The accused include BNP's Dhaka North Convenor Amanullah Aman and Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu.
According to the case, leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat took position in front of National Bank on Rampura DIT Road on February 3, 2015, during its nationwide shutdown.
They threw petrol bombs on a passenger bus, injuring one seriously. They also threw brickbats at police.
Rampura police station Sub-Inspector Babul Sharif filed the two cases on that day.
