Court to hold hearing on his bail plea October 11
A Dhaka court on Tuesday sent to jail Saiful Islam, director of the ecommerce platform ringID, in a case lodged under the Digital Security Act (DSA).
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Islam passed the order after police produced the accused before the court following the end of his two-day remand in the case.
CID Inspector Sohel Rana, investigating officer of the case, pleaded to keep Saiful behind bars till the conclusion of investigation in the case. Saiful's lawyer, on the other hand, pleaded for his bail.
After hearing both sides, the court sent Saiful to jail and set October 11 for holding a hearing on his plea for bail.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury on October 2 had placed Saiful on a two-day remand. He was arrested from the capital's Gulshan area on October 1.

A woman named Ankhi Begum filed the case against 25, including Saiful Islam, with Vatara police station alleging that she was conned after investing in ringID.
