Dr Ashrafuddin Khan says she appears calm and seems to be searching for someone familiar but is not uttering a word.
“Samina’s condition has been improving gradually since the surgery,” the DMCH causality department doctor told Dhaka Tribune on Monday.
Samina is daughter of one Iqbal, who died from cancer, and militant Shakira, who blew herself up during a 16-hour police raid in a militant hideout in Dhaka’s Ashkona on Saturday.
Police said after Samina’s father’s death, her mother Shakira married fugitive militant Sumon who led her into militancy.
On Saturday, police’s CTTC unit conducted a raid at a house in Ashkona Purba Para area of Dhaka’s Dakkhinkhan which led to the capture of two female militants and the rescue of three children.
Two others were killed in the raid – a woman killing herself by detonating a suicide vest and a teenage boy whose cause of death remains unclear.
