Besides, police seized one shotgun, one used bullet shell and 43 rounds of bullet from the mayor’s home on February 2. Upazila Awami League has decided to expel Halimul Haque Miru and KM Nasir Uddin from the party. Earlier, around 1pm, police sent five accused of journalist Abdul Hakim Shimul murder case, including Awami League activist KM Nasir Uddin, to Sirajganj district prison. A police team led by Sub-Inspector Masud Rana placed the accused before court where the court ordered police to send them to jail. On Thursday, journalist Shimul was hit by a bullet fired by Shahjadpur Mayor Halimul Haque Miru during a clash between the supporters of Shahjadpur Government College unit Chhatra League President Bijoy Mahmud and the supporters of Mayor’s brother Pintu. However, Miru claimed that the bullets were fired from both sides. But the police in primary investigation have found that the bullets were fired only from the mayor’s gun.
