The victim's father filed the case with Kotalipara police station accusing Samrat Mondol, son of Sridham Mondol, Sajal Biswas, son of Bankim Biswas, and Mithu Basu, son of Nirmal Basu, of committing the heinous act and threatening to upload the nude video.
Police are now conducting raids to arrest the accused.
Kotalipara police station OC (investigation) Md Mostafizur Rahman said: “The case has been recorded. We are on the move to arrest the accused. They will soon be brought to book.”
The issue came to light after the incident was reported in national dailies on Saturday.
Top officials of the district administration, police and other law enforcement agencies visited the victim on Saturday morning and assured her of justice.
According to the case statement, the victim was going to bathroom outside her house on the night of February 5 when the three accused grabbed her and forcefully stripped her naked.
They recorded a nude video of her and threatened to uploade the footage on social media.
Unable to bear the humiliation, the victim attempted to kill herself by taking poison on the same night.
Samrat with his accomplices committed the heinous act because the girl did not return his love interest, the case statement said.
The girl’s father told the Dhaka Tribune: “I could not report the incident earlier as those culprits threatened to upload my daughter’s video on social media.
“My daughter is a candidate in the ongoing SSC examinations, but since the incident she has not been able to sit for her exams. I want justice for my daughter.”
