
The court has issued arrest warrants against 25 people, including leaders of Hefazat-e-Islam, in a case lodged against them four years ago for instigating an attack on Gonojagoron Moncho on February 22, 2013.
Dhaka Metropolitan 1 Special Tribunal Judge Mohammad Kamrul Hossain Molla ordered the arrest warrants based on the Shahbagh police station's charge sheet which accuses 29 people for the bombing under the Explosives Act.
Islami Oikya Jote Chairman Abdul Latif Nizami and Secretary General Mufti Md Faizullah, Bangladesh Khilafat Majlish Ameer Mawlana Md Ishaq, Secretary General Ahmed Abdul Quader and chief Mawlana Abdur Rouf Yusufi, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Executive President Mufti Md Wakkas, Bangladesh Khilafat Andolon Ameer Shah Ahmedullah Ashraf and Nizam-e-Islam Bangladesh President Abdur Rakib are among the 25 accused.
The court has also ordered the Shahbagh police station OC to submit a report on April 6 stating whether these accused have been arrested.
