Police have detained five suspected robbers from Aftabnagar in Dhaka’s Badda area.
The detainees are Akash, Miraz, Sharif, Kamal and Shimul.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Mohammad Yousuf Ali told the Dhaka Tribune Tuesday morning.
He said: “Acting on a tip-off, we conducted a drive in the area and detained them while they were preparing for robbery around 9:30pm on Monday.”
Two machetes, two knives and two iron rods were recovered from their possession.
The ADC said a case has been filed against the five.
