Three detained, 5,000 injections seized in Dhaka

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police Detective Branch (DB) on Thursday detained three people and seized 5,000 injections from their possession, allegedly intended for drug use. Arrestees Saiful Islam, 42, Sima Akhter, 38, and Samsunnahar, 20, were captured during a drive in Kazimuddin Siddque Lane of the capital’s Bongshal area, said DMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media Cell) Md Yusuf Ali. “Later, 5,000 injections were found in their possession. These are often used for drug consumption,” the ADC said. Yusuf alleged that the arrestees were collecting various drug related items from the border areas of Bangladesh and supplying them to Dhaka. A case was lodged against the trio regarding the matter, the ADC added.
