A woman has been arrested at Benapole for possessing 2.75kg illegal gold.
Customs Intelligence officials arrested Roksana Begum with 11 gold bars from the check post area at 10am on Saturday.
The 33-year-old woman is a resident of Dhaka’s Wari.
Benapole Customs Intelligence Deputy Commissioner Abdus Sadek said they found her moving suspiciously when passing the no man’s land area.
"We found the gold bars on her when we frisked her," he said, adding that the seized gold had been handed over to Benapole port police.
