A Dhaka court has sent Rajib Ahmed and Rubel Hossain, two men arrested in the case filed for rape of a woman in Banani on Monday, to jail.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ahsan Habib passed the order rejecting both the bail and the remand petitions and fixed Wednesday for their remand hearing.
Banani police station Officer-in-Charge (investigation) Md Borhan Uddin produced them before the court with a five-day remand plea.
In a case filed with Banani police station on Sunday, the victim alleged that she was raped by Rajib and Rubel at a birthday party in Banani's The Star Palace Hotel on Saturday night.
Rajib's father Anwar Hossain, who was present in the court, said he came to Dhaka from Shahjadpur in Sirajganj after hearing about the incident last night. His son [Rajib] is married and has a child.
The other accused Rubel’s village is in Barisal's Moladi.
Earlier, last year, another case was filed about rape of two girls at a birthday party in Banani's Rain Tree Hotel against the son of Apan Jewelers’ owner and his friend.
The case is pending under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal.
