Newly established Kashiadanga police station in Rajshahi city has arrested a police constable along with yaba pills on its first day of operation.
Nazim Uddin, 32, along with two other drug addicts, was detained from a playground adjacent to Nagorpara Primary School on Thursday around 7:30pm, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Senior Assistant Commissioner (Sadar) Ifte Khayer Alam told the Dhaka Tribune.
The detained constable was withdrawn and sent to Rajshahi Police lines a few days ago over a brawl with his colleagues at Police Lines Hospital, he added.
Robiul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kashiadanga police station, said they had also come to know that the constable was once arrested by members of Border Guard Bangladesh for carrying phensidyl.
