Youth held for sexually harassing SUST student

A young man was held on charge of harassing a female student of the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) sexually on Saturday night. The victim, a third year student of the university, alleged that Kadir, co-passenger of a CNG-run auto rickshaw, touched her while she was returning to the campus from Madina Market around 9 pm by the auto-rickshaw. Kabir also locked into an altercation with her when she protested the incident. When the auto-rickshaw reached the university’s main gate, the victim sought help from her fellow students. Later, they caught the youth and handed him over to police. Shariful Islam, officer-in-charge of Jalalabad police station, said legal action will be taken against Kabir once a written complaint is lodged.
