A housewife in the Jhauchar area of Hazaribagh in Dhaka suffered an acid attack by unknown perpetrators on Monday.
Aklima Khatun, 25, was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital's (DMCH) Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit for treatment.
In-charge of DMCH police outpost Md Bachchu Mia confirmed the matter.
Aklima's husband Jobaer Hossain said: "An unknown youth threw acid on Aklima's face near Shahjahan market while she was taking our daughter to school, but later fled when people started gathering around."
Jobaer suspects one of his distant relatives, Sumi, based on prior enmity. Aklima was crossing Sumi's house when she was attacked.
Resident surgeon of the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of DMCH Dr Partha Sankar Pal said that parts of Aklima's right eye and neck have been burned, and her body has suffered 5% burn.
