A large amount of fake Indian and Bangladeshi currency was seized

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have busted a counterfeit currency factory and detained two people, including a woman, at Notun Rajbari in Kadamtali area of Dhaka.

RAB members conducted a drive in the area on Thursday and seized a large amount of counterfeit notes at the site.  

The detainees are Sumon Sagor and his wife Hosne Ara.

Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, Major Ashraful Huq, second-in-command of RAB 10, said acting on a tip-off, a team conducted the drive in Kadamtali’s Notun Rajbari area and busted a counterfeit money factory.

Two people were detained and a large amount of fake Indian and Bangladeshi currency was seized from the spot, he said. 

Materials to produce counterfeit currency were also seized from the site. Legal action will be taken against the detained persons, he added.
