A minor girl was allegedly raped by her father in Jalkuri Pashchimpara area of Siddhirganj upazila in Narayagnaj on Monday.
The 11-year-old victim was initially taken to Narayanganj 300-Bed Hospital.
She was, however, shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) as her condition deteriorated early Tuesday, police said.
"The man raped his daughter while his wife was out of home. The victim informed her mother of her ordeal when she returned," Sub-Inspector Ibrahim Patwari of Siddhirganj police station said, quoting the mother.
Locals beat up the father and handed him over to police after learning about the alleged rape.
The victim is scheduled to undergo an operation at DMCH.
