6 held for beating a man to death

Police have arrested six people for killing a man supposedly having an affair with a married woman in Krishnanagar village of Dhamrai upazila in Savar, Dhaka, on Monday.

Sources said, the deceased Azad Mia, 28, was having an illicit affair with his neighbor Saiful Islam’s wife, Rojina. Finding out about the affair, Saiful called  Azad to his house and beat him to death. 

According to police, the police retrieved Azad’s dead body from the spot and detained the six suspects involved, identified as Saiful Islam, Rojina, Sajib, Shahid, Farhad, and Zia.

Dhamrai police station OC, Dipak Chandra Saha, confirmed the incident to Dhaka Tribune and said: “A case has been filed by the victim’s family. The murder took place on account of an illicit affair. Azad’s dead body was taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital morgue.”
