Update : 07 Aug 2020, 02:14 PM

Police recovered the body of a businessman from Bashundhara Residential Area (R/A) in Dhaka on Friday.

The deceased is Abul Khayer, 50, owner of Sajib Builders. He lived with his family in block-F of the residential area.

His brother Abdul Bari Bablu said: “My brother left the house after getting a phone call around 7:30pm on Thursday and did not come back. We started searching for him but could not find him.”

His family reported this to  Vatara police station. Police later found Khayer’s body at an under-construction building in block-M of Bashundhara Residential Area.

Abdul Bari also said that Khayer was doing property development on a small scale. However, he was facing trouble with a property he was recently dealing with.

“Khayer discussed the matter with me and I suggested he talk things over and resolve the matter. He had no other enemy,” he added.

“We suspect Khayer knew the murderer. Otherwise, he would not have left the house after getting the call,” said the brother.

Vatara police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Moktaruzzaman said: “We have recovered the body and there are injury marks on the head. We suspect it is a murder.”

“However, we are investigating the matter,” he added.
