Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) has arrested four people for hacking and robbing a bKash agent in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.

Shaheen Sheikh, Sahel Hassan, Munna, and Md Haider were arrested in connection to the incident from the Mohammadpur area on Tuesday night.

Police also confiscated a chapatti, 2 knives, and Toyota Axio during the drive.

In a press conference held at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media centre on Minto Road in Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon, DB Additional Commissioner AKM Hafeez Akhter said that preliminary interrogation revealed Shaheen Sheikh as the leader of the gang.

The gang had planned to intercept the bKash agent on his way home after closing his shop.

They assaulted him repeatedly with sharp weapons before taking all his money and fleeing the scene in a pre-arranged car, said Akhter.
