The RAB official continued: “She told us that she was an orphan and lived at a Teknaf Rohingya camp with her foster mother Amena.

“However, after reviewing the evidence seized from Nur Taj and conducting a preliminary investigation, we came to know that her father, Sadiq, is currently living in Australia.

“She has been living in a rented house in Dhaka’s Mugda area with her mother, Sharmin, and two brothers, Anwar Hossain and Paresh Sadiq, for the last four years.”

Meanwhile, Sumon, a travel agency staffer, used to help people get fake birth certificates, national identity cards and passports in exchange for large sums of money, the additional superintendent of police mentioned.

Legal action was being taken against the two arrested persons, he added.
