Case filed against 3 teenagers for attempting to rape minor in Jessore

A case has been filed against three teenage boys for attempting to rape a 5-year-old girl in Jessore.

The incident took place at Pashi Pashchimpara village in Manirampur upazila on Saturday afternoon.

Manirampur police station OC Rafiqul Islam said the victim’s father, Md Nur Nabi, filed a case against the three accused on Sunday.

According to the case statement, the accused teenagers took the minor girl to a nearby garden to play and reportedly tried to forcibly rape her.

A woman, who was passing through the area, noticed the incident and sensing her presence, the teenagers fled the scene, leaving behind the girl.

Locals gathered at the scene and rescued the survivor. The victim's father later lodged a complaint with Maniram police station.

After the case was filed, the parents of the accused – along with them – fled the village secretly.

Drives are underway to arrest the teenagers, said police.
