The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has recovered the body parts of Savar Residential School and College Principal Mintu Chandra Barman, who went missing 28 days ago.

Thirty-six-year-old Barman was murdered in a dispute over control of the school, media reports said citing investigators.

Three people have been arrested over the killing, RAB spokesperson Khandaker Al Moin said on Monday.

They are two of Barman’s business partners and co-founders of the educational institute -- Rabiul, Motaleb, and Rabiul’s nephew Badsha, he said.

“According to the arrestees, Barman was hacked to death in one of the classrooms. Later, his body was cut into six pieces and buried in the school grounds. The head was dumped in a pond in Uttara,” said Moin of the RAB’s Legal and Media Wing.

Citing the arrestees, RAB said that they called the victim to an empty room of the school on the night of July 13 after Mintu finished taking coaching classes.

They then killed Mintu, cut the body into six pieces, buried five pieces of the body in the school premises and threw the head into a pond in the Ashkona area.

Rabiul and Motaleb were in dispute with Mintu over the ownership of the school, RAB said.

Barman lived in the Jamgarh area of Ashulia for the last seven years. He and four others founded the school .

On July 13, Mintu went missing and later on July 22, his brother Deepak filed a general diary with the Ashulia police station.
