Police in search of man who raped housewife, videotaped it

Police are searching for the man who raped a housewife and videotaped the incident in Savar.

The accused Sekendar Ali, 57, has been a kabiraj in the area for a long time.

The incident took place in the accused’s house in Badda Bhatpara area of Savar municipality on Thursday evening.

Savar Model police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Tahmidul Islam confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Saturday.

SI Tahmidul said that a local housewife went to the house of kabiraj Sekendar for treatment.

Later, the accused raped her by intimidating her in  varous ways. At that time, his wife recorded a video of the heinous act.

The victim filed a case against Sekendar at Savar Model police station on Saturday morning.

The rape survivor has been sent to the One-Stop Crisis Centre of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for medical examination.

The kabiraj's wife was taken to the police station for questioning. Drives are underway to arrest the main accused, said police.
