
The Government of Tripura state in India will hand over land to the Northeast Frontier Railway for the construction of Agartala-Akhaura railway line in September.
The disbursement of financial compensation to the land owners, whose lands have been acquired for the project, will start on August 20, according to West Tripura District Administration.
Around 66 acres of land have already been acquired in Tripura in order to construct 5km of the rail track while 10km will be constructed from the Nishchintapur border area via Gangasagar to Akhaura in Brahmanbaria, Bangladesh.
