
Finance Minister A M A Muhith said that Japanese firms are interested to invest in the ongoing mega projects in Bangladesh.
He made the above statement after a meeting with a delegation of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation on Wednesday.
Sumitomo Investment Chief (Asia) Rajeev Kannan led the Japanese delegation and discussed the prospects of the projects with the minister at his office.
Sumitomo Project Finance Head Luca Tonello, and Export and Agency Finance Chief Pram Raj Suman were also present during the meeting.
Muhith said: “We need a lot of investment in our power and infrastructure sectors. We need around $100 billion investment in the railway sector. We have talked about these issues at the meeting.”
