The workers of Hexa Garments, a readymade garments factory, have blocked Elephant Road in Dhaka, demanding outstanding salaries and fearing closure of the factory with no warning.
“The workers blocked the road at 10am on Thursday, disrupting vehicular movement in the areas connecting Elephant Road,” said Nabid Kamal Shoibal, Assistant Deputy Commissioner (Ramna-Admin) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
He said police have informed the factory owner of the recent situation through BGMEA and hopefully it will be brought under control after a discussion among BGMEA, the factory owner and the workers.
