The High Court on Wednesday imposed a ban on hydraulic horns in Dhaka metropolitan city. A bench comprising Justices Kazi Rezaul Haque and Sanaullah issued the order.
According to the court order, all hydraulic horns on vehicles in Dhaka have to be removed within 48 hours.
The order is in response to a writ petition which cites that the use of hydraulic horns is in contradiction of Motor Vehicles Ordinance, 1983, by creating noise pollution.
The court has also asked authorities concerned to confiscate every hydraulic horn on the market within seven days.
