Mobile app-based ride-sharing service Ezzyr is scheduled to start off its journey in Dhaka city on the first day of December, the month of victory of Bangladesh.
The app, developed by e-commerce consultancy firm Innovadeus Pvt Ltd, will work similarly as Uber and Pathao.
Through this app, it will now be easier to book a car, motorcycle, or an ambulance, said a press release.
Vehicles can be hired for long-distance journey through Ezzyr's pre-reservation service, but that service will not be available until the beginning of 2018.
The app was officially launched on Sunday at a city hotel, where Innovadeus Pvt Ltd Director Kamrul Hasan Emon said Ezzyr was going to provide its services in order to ensure transport availability for Dhaka commuters.
Speaking of the strike that CNG autorickshaw drivers plan to impose in December, he said: “We hope to welcome CNG autorickshaw owners if they become interested to work with us in future. We will continue supporting the construction of digital Bangladesh.”
Referring to Ezzyr as a “Made in Bangladesh” initiative, Emon said: “We hope to get public support. We strongly assure that we will immediately resolve any issue of our drivers and passengers.”
He also mentioned offering attractive bonuses and promotional offers for both passengers and drivers.
Rana Ahad, another director of Innovadeus, said: “We have designed the app after discussing the initiative with at least 700 partners. The app will let the drivers receive requests for rides, providing navigation maps and information about the fare in the easiest way.”
Ezzyr is now available on Google Play Store, and will soon be available at Apple app store. There are two apps available: Ezzyr Drive for drivers who are interested to provide the service, and Ezzyr for passengers who are interested to get the service.
One can get registered on Ezzyr by logging on to www.ezzyr.com.
The service will be available in Chittagong, Sylhet and other big cities in the country in 2018.
