Update : 22 Mar 2018, 02:59 AM
Doctors at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) have finished operating on Shahreen Ahmed and Shahin Bepari – survivors of the deadly US-Bangla plane crash. The operations, lasting for about three hours, started at 9am on Wednesday, Chief National Coordinator for Plastic Surgery Dr Samanta Lal Sen told the media. “Shahin will require a number of surgeries as there are wounds on his body,” Samanta added. The doctor said they took skin from Shahreen’s thigh and grafted it onto her neck. In Shahin’s case, skin taken from his thigh was grafted onto his hand. According to Dr Samanta, Nepal plane crash survivors Shahin, Shahreen and Kabir are in critical condition. Of the three, Kabir’s condition is the worst. “We are taking constant care of them,” he added. A plane operated by US-Bangla Airlines crashed at the Kathmandu airport on March 12 killing 49 people, including 26 Bangladeshis. Ten Bangladeshis survived the crash. The airline’s General Manager (Marketing and Public Relations) Kamrul Islam said they would foot the medical expenses of the survivors. This article was first published on banglatribune.com
