Rajib Hossain, the 22-year-old college student who lost one of his arms in a bus accident in Dhaka, has died.
He died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 12:40am on Tuesday, Rajib’s aunt Jahanara Begum said.
A student of Government Titumir College in Dhaka, Rajib lost his right arm when a bus of Sajan Paribahan hit a BRTC double-decker bus parked at SAARC circle on April 3.
He was rushed to Samorita Hospital in Panthapath, and later transferred to DMCH on April 4 for better treatment. Doctors could not re-attach his severed arm.
On April 5, Health Minister Mohammad Nasim visited Rajib and assured his family that the government would bear the full cost of his treatment.
The minister had also assured that Rajib, upon his recovery, would be given a government job on humanitarian grounds.

Rajib died of brain hemorrhage
DMCH Forensic Doctor Prodip Biswas said Rajib died following a brain hemorrhage.
Rajib's uncle, Zahidul Islam, said Rajib’s namaz-e-janaza was held at the mosque adjacent to the High Court after Zohr prayers.
Zahidul also said they would take the body to Rajib’s village in Patuakhali for the second namaz-e-janaza, after which he would be buried at his family graveyard.
