Rajib, who lost his right hand after it got stuck between two buses at the city's Karwan Bazar on April 3, breathed his last at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Tuesday.
He left behind two younger brothers -- Mehedi Hasan and Abdullah Hasan. Mehedi is a seventh grader and Abdullah a sixth grader at Quran-e-Hafez Tamirul Millat Madrasah.
Rajib used to bear the educational expenses of his brothers doing a part-time job as a computer operator as well as teaching students.
Minister Menon on Wednesday also announced a donation of Tk50,000 to Rajib’s family from the government treasury.
“We will not only take responsibility of their education but also take steps for their jobs after giving them technical education,” he said.
